Summer 2020 may be almost a year away, but Swifties already have plans.
On Tuesday, Taylor Swift took to social media to finally share her first ‘Lover’ tour dates,
writing, “For me, the Lover album is open fields and sunsets and SUMMER. I want to
celebrate the album and perform it live with you in a way that feels authentic to the music.
I want to go to some places I haven’t been, and play festivals for the first time in
ages…and where we didn’t have festivals, we made some.” Dubbed “Lover Fest West”
and “Lover Fest East,” the two-night runs are being tagged as her only U.S. dates
next year. And, in true Taylor fashion, she’ll blaze a trail by being the first woman in history
to open an NFL stadium, when she becomes the inaugural artist to perform at the SoFi
Stadium in Los Angeles July 25th and 26th. She’ll also play two nights at Gillette Stadium
in Foxborough, Massachusetts on July 31st and August 1st. But first the ‘Lover’ tour will
kick off on June 20th in Belgium, before heading to Germany, Norway, Denmark, Poland,
France, Portugal and Brazil. It looks like tickets go on sale to the public starting
October 14th, with more details, including opening acts for the U.S. shows, plus
additional dates to be announced soon.
