Hyundai set to break sales record in Europe

2016 may have been a disappointment for Korea’s
exports overall, but Hyundai Motor has a good
reason to celebrate: shipping a record-high
number of cars to the European market.
According to industry data on Sunday, the
nation’s top automaker sold more than 460-thousand
units in the European market over the January-to-November
The 8-point-8 percent on-year increase can
be attributed to robust performance of the
Tucson compact SUV… with some 143-thousand-800
units sold there.
Analysts speculate that with December’s shipments
added, the total for last year would likely
surpass the 500-thousand mark.
Beyond Europe, in said period, the Korean
car giant also sold more than 500-thousand
units in India, China the U.S. and at home
as well.
